Why, Father?

The father from The Road, he had died. He died of loss blood, hunger, and cold. This wouldn't happened if he wasn't so paranoid. The boy have learned all the survival skills from the father, he was prepared to go on his own. There is one thing he refuse to listen that father had told him. If you see anyone out there, hide, they are bad people. Whatever you do not trust them. So, in the end when his father died, the boy meandered out in the road all on his own. He saw a man holding a shotgun, scarred face, and wearing black clothing, to hide part of his identity. The boy didn't run, he stood there, and waited for the man. The man came up to the boy, and asked where his father. He's dead. Oh. The man pondered and decided to ask the boy to live with his family. The boy said are you one of the good guys? The man says you have to trust me if you can. The boy went with him. He recovered all his things and lived with his family. The first thing came to my mind is that why father is so paranoid. If he wasn't afraid to meet people out in the street then they could have formed a group. They could worked together to survive. The father would been alive, and the boy wouldn't be so lonely. The boy had carried the fire.
